Role: IBM WebSphere System Administrator
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Windsor, CT (Locals Only)

GC & Citizens only

Responsibilities:
Strong administrative capabilities with WebSphere network deployment and configurations
Ability to recommend performance tuning for the application by monitoring JVM usage etc
Configure node parameters, able to create queues, connection pooling etc
Good knowledge on WebSphere Application server capabilities and able to recommend performance improvements to best utilize server capabilities
Standard production support to monitor server (currently the application configured with DyanaTrace)
Triaging and resolving issues with WebSphere and associated technologies.
Trouble shooting of WAS environment and applications (Analyze JVM logs, Trace Logs, FFDC, native logs, java core, heap dumps)
Work on server side DB configuration
Server setup and build deployment
Performance monitoring and tuning
Setup and maintain the clustering environment
Implementing industry best practices for configuration choices and environment
Understand the client needs and provide solution
Manage multi-task & support multiple priorities / multiple deliverables

Required Skills:
Strong experience in installing, configuring and performance tuning IBM WebSphere Application Server on latest version
Good experience in performance tuning of JVM parameters for large distributed applications
Monitoring the JVM performance by analyzing WebSphere Heap Size and garbage collection
Strong experience in working with server teams and understanding of server configurations for large JEE applications
Strong understanding of configuring clustering and load balancing for server products
Good understanding of scripts (ANT/Shell/Perl), build/deploy procedures, HTML UI, CSS and Java-script
Exposure and understanding of webservers (tomcat or Apache or Similar) & configuring proxies & Server Shell scripting
